Program Description

Join Mark R. Reinhart as he presents his unique approach to awakening and restoring optimal neurological function. These practices can enhance your daily activities and deepen you meditation practice.

As children, we spent our days playing, running, engaging in all sorts of activities and adventures that entailed using all aspects of our bodies. But as we age, we tend to engage in far fewer activities and therefore many of our abilities begin to diminish. This can result in many of our neurological connections to, in effect, become stale. It鈥檚 not that we can鈥檛 perform these tasks, it鈥檚 that our bodies have simply forgotten how to perform them.

Attendance is required to receive PDA credits from NCCAOM

Current practitioners will receive thirteen (6) continuing education units (PDA points) for completion of the class. A CEU certificate of completion will be given at the end of the CEU.

Program Description

IN-PERSON or LIVE STREAMING

Intrinsic with听the study of Classical Chinese medicine is the discussion of the Ling听hun and Ling po. While the hun and po are often translated as the ethereal and corporeal soul and are said to reside in the Liver and Lungs respectively, there is little else that has been taught about these entities. Usually relegated to Chinese spiritual or religious cultural aspects, students of Chinese medicine rarely get the opportunity to understand their role in clinical practice, even though there is some inference to听their significance in acupuncture point names. Some of their attributes have been the hun and its relationship to sleep, memory, and dreams, while the po has been implicated in fertility, death and dying, and even qigong. 听In addition, as 鈥渟piritual鈥 components of the Ling-soul, they are intricately related to the Shen-spirit and clinically implicated with psychological and mental illnesses.听This seminar will explore, examine,听and discuss the different aspects of the hun and po from the influence of Daoism on Chinese medicine. More importantly, the clinical application of utilizing the revelations invoked from accessing the hun and po for therapeutic treatment of learning disabilities, loss of memory, depression, insomnia, and other psycho-mental issues.

Program Description

IN-PERSON ONLY

This course aims to introduce practitioners of acupuncture to the burgeoning field of genomic science and familiarize them with its potential groundbreaking cross sections with their art. Many explanations for the mechanisms of acupuncture abound and the genomic mechanism is a fledgling yet intriguing model which, if definitely confirmed with ongoing research, would revolutionize practitioner understanding of the medicine and greatly augment their treatment possibilities.

In this course, students will be introduced to this field and explore its connection with women鈥檚 health鈥損articularly in regards to the treatment of fertility and perimenopausal afflictions. Students will be given both theory and praxis into this cutting edge field of biomedical acupuncture and eventually come to view women鈥檚 health in an entirely different light. Dr. Beys will take a variety of genomic adjacent topics from Sirtuins to Blue zones to the HPO (Hypothalamic – Pituitary – Ovarian) Axis and blend them seamlessly with common TCM concepts in a straightforward and everyday 鈥渟treet鈥 manner.

Presenter: Michael Beys, LAc, DACM, is a practitioner with over 20 years of experience in Chinese Medicine, having graduated from PCOM with degrees in both acupuncture and herbalism. After starting up shop in Staten Island and tending primarily to the fertility needs of his community there, Dr. Beys soon migrated to NJ to start a new chapter and to tend to his burgeoning family. 听

Just as his new family doubled from a trio to a healthy six over the years, so too did his Shrewsbury practice expand from the few New York loyalists who remained with him to the hundreds of Monmouth County area patients he now sees regularly there. 听

In 2019, Dr. Beys completed his Doctorate in Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine, which focused highly on genomic science and its potential therapeutic implications for treatment strategies.听 Enriched by the new knowledge, he was quick to implement it鈥攗sing it both to update his approach but also to better understand why & how it worked.听 The efforts were well rewarded and now his current patients all reap the benefits from his efforts鈥攈elping more and more people heal every day & more and more women complete their journey into motherhood.

When he is not tending to his practice, Dr. Beys likes to enjoy the company of his family鈥攖he true treasure of his life.听 He involves them frequently with his other loves: fine food, science fiction and board games as well as taking them back enjoy the sights and sounds of their ancestral Greek lands.

Program Description

Jing Bie/Channel Divergences are among the channel systems of Chinese acupuncture that reflect the mechanism of the body to divert pathogenic factors that have overwhelmed the body into subacute or dormant states. As channels that penetrate into joints and articulations, these meridians can impact the jing-essence and the qi-curious bowels. Since the pathogens are not fully released, the body continues either periodically or actively attempt towards resolution with flare-ups or progressive inflammation. Often misunderstood or deemed as an auto-immune process by Western medicine, the overuse of steroidal medication simply offers some relief by inducing latency or remission but such management does not provide viable resolution to their recurrence. Interestingly, a number of confluent points of the divergent channels are located at major lymph nodes of the body. This seminar will examine the physiology of the divergent channels, the implications of their trajectories, and their clinical applications for a host of medical conditions, especially pertaining to auto-immune conditions. Participants will learn to fine tune their diagnostics of the divergent channels and how to integrate them into their repertoire of acupuncture channels. In addition, clinical use of these channels will be demonstrated to provide practicality and subtleties for the practitioner, including the use of herbs and other modalities of Chinese medicine.

Current practitioners will receive thirteen (13) continuing education units (PDA points) for completion of the class. A CEU certificate of completion will be given at the end of the CEU. Attendees must attend both classes in its entirety to receive the certificate.
